Flaky, Buttery Goodness! If you have never made Buttermilk Biscuits then you should grab your apron because you’re in for a treat!
Even though biscuits are great for breakfast, they also make a delicious side add for dinner too. But lets face it, I take a warm buttered biscuits with any meal.
Here are a few tips when making Buttermilk Biscuits
- Make sure that your Butter and Buttermilk is very cold. This will aid in having flaky layers.
- When mixing your ingredients together it’s very important to not over mix as well as under mixing. Over mixing will cause the dough to become dense. Your dough should feel light to the touch. Under mixing will give you a floury taste (Trust me, I’ve made that mistake) due to not mixing enough.
- When placing the biscuits onto your baking pan, by placing them close together will allow the biscuits to rise upwards. My favorite to bake biscuits in is my cast iron skillet.
