Oven Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes is one of the easiest recipe that you can make. Caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside. This makes a great side dish to serve with any main dish such as Chicken, Beef or Fish. The oven roasted sweet potatoes are made from sweet potatoes that have been roasted in the oven until fork tender.
The roasted potatoes are a must-have side dish that’s perfect for the fall and winter months. As to why I’m always looking for different ways to cook sweet potatoes. For me my go to way of preparing sweet potatoes is baking the Sweet Potatoes as a whole in the oven then sprinkling some cinnamon with a little butter. Growing up in an era that all I knew about sweet potatoes was that we would have it for the holidays as candied yams or sweet potato pie.
I wanted to combine the taste, texture, and flavors of both the baked Sweet Potato and Candied Yams. This recipe, it has honey for extra sweetness instead of adding sugar. Much different than how candied yams are prepared and gives you an Healthier alternative too.

To make this side dish, you will need the following ingredients:
- Sweet Potatoes
- Olive Oil
- Cinnamon
- Honey
- All Spice
- Chili Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt & Pepper
- Thyme
- Parsley (optional)
How to Make
First I peeled the Sweet Potatoes using a peeler, but feel free to use a small pairing knife to remove the skin. Once all peeled, I like to rinse off the potatoes and pat them dry. Cut the Potatoes into small cubes and Place them in a mixing bowl.
Now would be the perfect time to preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and you might want to grab your sheet pan too. I like to cover my sheet pan with foil for easy cleanup. Drizzle the olive oil over the sweet potatoes. Add all the seasonings and give it a good toss to make sure the sweet potato is well-covered.

Equipment
- Potato Peeler or Knife
- Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 2 Large Sweet Potatoes
- 3 tbsp. Honey
- 3 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. All Spice
- 1 tsp. Chili Powder
- 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
- ½ tsp. Salt and Pepper
- 1 tbsp. Thyme Fresh
- 1 tbsp. Parsley Fresh
Instructions
- Preheat Oven 375°F
- Peel the Sweet potatoes and cut them into bite-size cubes.
- Drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil over the Potatoes. Add Seasonings and toss the Sweet Potatoes until well covered in oil and season.
- Make sure the Sweet potatoes are evenly spread onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 30 Minutes or until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender. Remove from the oven and Enjoy.
